AI-Assisted Writing & Editing
with the Georgetown University Alumni Association
Two-week course starting June 2, 2025
In this short course, participants learn a proven framework for writing and editing their work—with help from generative AI. We’ll follow the outline of our most-requested signature workshop, with guidance at each step on how to work effectively with gen AI as a planning, drafting, and revising partner.
This course is appropriate for attendees who use gen AI but want a writing-specific focus, and for those who will be experimenting with AI tools for the first time during the course. Participants will practice using gen AI for audience awareness, tone of voice, prompt engineering, and more. We will focus our sentence-level edits on stylistic hallmarks of AI-generated copy.

“Grace’s workshop at our nonprofit office was thoughtful, instructive, and will make an immediate positive impact on our writing. Though my colleagues and I come from different educational backgrounds and have a wide range of writing experience, each of us took away helpful pieces of advice that will be easy to implement.”
—Meredith Wade, Management Consultant, The Hope for Henry Foundation

“Bold Type facilitated their Writing and Editing training for 30 of our staff members. Both Casey and Grace were incredibly easy to work with, and they intentionally catered the workshop to our needs. Several months later and our staff is still actively using the strategies learned in their daily communication to our partners and program participants.”
- Cameron Ford, Senior Program Officer, American Councils for International Education
